Lagar de Besada | D.O. Rías Baixas
Lagar de Besada is a very small and ancient bodega in D.O. Rías Baixas. This family winery works exclusively with the Albariño grape, here are both young and fully aged Albariño wines produced. Apart from wines you can find cava, Orujo, liquor and gelee at Lagar de Besada, all 100% Albariño.
Albariño is the grape variety of the Galician Rías Baixas region, which is located in the northwest of Spain. The humid climate makes wine growing complex. Nevertheless, the Albariño thrives very well in this wet and cool environment. The small size of the grape with a thick skin creates an intense aroma and exquisite taste, which makes it one of the most demanded and expensive white wines from Spain. The species is immune against botrytis, but very susceptible to leaf diseases. The grape grows best on a soil with slate or granite.
You are very welcome to visit the winery and taste the beautiful wines! There’s also the possibility to spend the night in the small Bed&Breakfast to complete the experience.
